Does the Pixel 2 have a Micro SD slot?

Short answer: No.

Longer answer: No, the Pixel 2 does not have a Micro SD slot.

The Pixel 2 does include a new eSIMĀ and a traditional nano SIM, but it doesn’t include any kind of removable storage like Micro SD. Google started this policy with their line of Nexus phones, where they stated that Micro SD cards compromise performance and make things confusing for the user. (We don’t necessarily agree with either point, particularly with the rise of fast and high-capacity UHS Speed Class 3 cards, but there you go.)

Instead, you’ll have to make do with the built-in 64GB or 128GB of storage, or temporarily augment it using a USB-C drive. (You could also just choose to get a different phone that does have a Micro SD card slot, including Samsung’s popular Galaxy S8 and Note 8, HTC’s U11 or LG’s G6 or V30).

However, you do get online storage via Google Photos (at least until 2021) of all photos taken on the Pixel 2, so you should be fine for most situations! You can also use the Google Play app to see apps that you haven’t used in a while, which should help you in freeing up some space.’

We hope this brief article helped you out!

  1. Connect the pixel to your computer with a usb cable. You may be prompted to begin file sharing on your pixel. Once connected, open explorer and your pixel should show up as a removable drive. Let me know if this helps!
