Samsung Clear View Stand Cover
The Clear View Stand is a clever case that protects your Galaxy S8’s expansive screen, without obscuring your view of the time, notifications and other important information. The way it does this is with a semi-transparent flip cover, allowing you to see the screen below. It’s also fully touch-compatible, so you can swipe away notifications, answer or reject calls and otherwise use your phone. If you like the style and protection of a flip case but you don’t want to sacrifice usability, this is a great choice. It also just looks cool, with a blank mirror finish that lets you check your appearance while you’re out and about. This case even includes a stand function, which is perfect for watching videos or playing games on the Galaxy S8’s gorgeous screen. The Clear View is available in multiple colours too, so you’re sure to find one you like. All in all, this is a top-notch premium case for the Galaxy S8, and definitely one of the stars of Samsung’s official case lineup.

Samsung Silicone Cover
This simple cover cloaks the Galaxy S8 in a slim silicone case, available in a wide range of colours. It provides moderate drop and scratch protection, and can even prevent an accidental drop thanks to its grippy texture. The Silicone Cover is one of the thinnest options available, so if you don’t want to add too much bulk to your shiny new phone this is a good choice.

Samsung LED Flip Wallet
The LED Flip Wallet tackles the same problem as the Clear View Cover, but takes a more classic approach. Here, a dot matrix display embedded into the front of the case is responsible for showing your notifications, the time, incoming calls and other information. It definitely appeals to my retro sensibilities, and it’s pretty practical too. The case also provides an integrated card slot, perfect for keeping your ID, bus ticket or credit card close at hand. Samsung Alcantara Cover
Alcantara is a modern synthetic material with a look and feel that reminds me of suede. It feels snug and grippy in your hand, and its subtle texture makes it look different to most other cases on the market. Alcantara is well-known for its use in high-end cars and rockets, and it really appeals as a smartphone cover too. Of all the official Samsung Galaxy S8 cases, this one is my favourite.
