Wireless charging is a convenient way of keeping your smartphone topped up, but it’s gained a reputation of being slower than wired charging. However, with the proper equipment you can make wireless charging very fast indeed. Let’s take a look at the different chargers available, and see which is best for charging smartphones like the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S8 and more.
1. Wireless chargers — 5W
Let’s start with the default option — the wide range of Qi wireless chargers which provide 5W of charging power. That’s enough to recharge most smartphones in a few hours, but it’s noticeably slower than a fast charger. However, these wireless chargers are relatively inexpensive, and can be found in a range of styles and colours.
2. Samsung Fast Wireless Charging — 9W
Samsung’s Fast Wireless Charger is part of a new breed, designed to offer faster charging speeds thanks to a 9W input. That means you’ll spend less time charging, and more time actually using your phone. Samsung’s chargers are pretty swish too, and are available in white or black. However, they’re not the fastest option available…
3. Belkin Fastest Charging — 15W
OK, here we have it: the fastest wireless charger on the market right now. Belkin’s wireless charger offers 15W of charging power, allowing for noticeably faster charging. You should be able to charge your phone fully in only a couple of hours, just as fast as wired charging. If you’d like to see the Belkin charger in action, check out the video linked below!

Just a note, the Belkin 15W one isn’t really 15W, it’s more 12W, just like Samsung’s fast wireless charger (which isn’t really 9W!).
