Let your dongle dangle with this essential accompaniment to your iPhone 7

As Apple bravely removed the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, they included a helpful dongle in every box: a 3.5mm to Lightning adapter. This dongle allows you to use old headphones with the new iPhone, thus ensuring you didn’t have to rush out and buy Lightning or Bluetooth headphones that you weren’t planning on. However, this has also caused a problem… namely, it’s pretty easy to lose track of this essential accessory!

That’s where the Dongle Dangler comes in. This curiously named accessory is essentially a bit of metal in the shape of a 3.5mm headphone connector with a key-ring attachment. The idea is pretty simple — plug it into your 3.5mm to Lightning dongle, put it on your key chain, and then you’ll always know where your dongle is.

Makers Plexity Labs are flogging the Dongle Dangler on Kickstarter, where it’s already crushed its $500 goal by $2,000. Pledge $5 plus shipping, and you get a Dongle Dangler in time for Christmas. You can also purchase multiple units at a slight discount, if you want to equip all of your iPhone-7-toting friends with one for some reason. There’s just over a day to go on the campaign, but I’m sure they’ll be available for sale afterwards as well.

I reckon it’s a pretty clever product — maybe even an essential one if you’re using the headphone adapter a lot! What do you think? Should we stock this ourselves? Let us know in the comments below, or write to us on Twitter @mobilefun!
