“The budget phone of choice for many has received an impressive update and while it’s now officially a Lenovo phone, that hasn’t had the detrimental effect many were expecting. It’s fast, has a great camera, bright screen and Nexus-like software. I do have some reservations about the size, but honestly every other affordable phone maker should be worried. Seriously worried.”

“If you’re after a flagship-style experience – awesome cameras, smooth performance, strong visuals – but for a third of the price, Motorola has once again delivered with the Moto G4.”

“The Moto G4 is a huge redesign for the series that anyone with a tight phone budget should love. It’s much bigger than any Moto G to date, making it much better for watching video and gaming. Everything we’ve loved about the G-crew to date is still here. The price, the performance and the sensible hardware are all spot-on.”

“As an all-round package, it’s very hard to find fault with the Motorola Moto G4. It may be a touch more expensive than last year’s Moto G, but since it’s better in most ways – with superior battery life, a better camera, a brighter, bigger screen and a sleeker, more grown-up design – you won’t find me complaining.”

“It’s so good, in fact, that it effectively eliminates nearly every mid-range smartphone of the last six months as the G4’s octa-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and 2GB of RAM offers exactly the same amount of processing power for almost half the price. It also utterly wipes the floor with its budget rivals, providing a substantial upgrade even for 3rd Gen Moto G owners.”

“But perhaps the most surprising aspect of the G4 Plus, especially to those familiar with the G series, is the camera quality. Few phones below $300 are able to deliver image quality as good as what the G4 Plus can. Moreover, Lenovo’s pledge to deliver the next two big Android updates adds an immediate purchasing incentive.”
