Gilded iPhone SE from Goldgenie

First up is London-based Goldgenie, who are selling eight different gilded SIM-free models of the iPhone SE. Each model is hand-embellished in 24K gold, rose gold or platinum, turning the inexpensive four-inch iPhone into an object of definite luxury. The cheapest option costs a ‘reasonable’ £1582, with the models getting increasingly encrusted and expensive all the way up to the Superstar model.

The Superstar has 200 grams of 18K gold; a true solid-gold phone. The Superstar costs around £46,000 after VAT; there’s also a Solid Gold Superstar ICE that includes 364 diamonds (5.5 carats) on top of the gold, which goes for an eye-watering £65,000 after VAT. But don’t worry, it’ll come in a nice cherry oak box, complete with mains adapter, USB cable and Earpods, so it’s a pretty good deal.

If you’d prefer a larger gold-encrusted Apple object in your home, then you may want to talk to the fine folks at Truly Exquisite. They’re promoting a luxurious 9.7-inch iPad Pro, covered in your choice of noble metals.

You have the option for a 24K gold-plated tablet for £2220, an 18K gold-plated tablet for £2280 or the truly impressive option: a platinum-plated model for £2340. Of course, you can spend extra for a 256GB model or LTE connectivity, if you like. Like the Goldgenie phones, these iPads come in nice wooden boxes, and even include a Smart Cover.

Wrap-up

Even if you’d never buy a golden iPhone or iPad, they’re still pretty cool to look at. If you won the lottery, which one would you pick up?
