The Thin Fit Shell Case is a simple but stylish case for the Nexus 5X. The hard case is made from polycarbonate, giving your phone a tough and durable barrier against drops and scratches. The case has a non-slip, soft feel coating that helps to keep it comfortably in your hands. That makes for a case that is quite a reasonable choice for everyday protection, although thicker and more complex cases like the Verus High Shield Pro can offer better drop protection if you’d prefer.
The Thin Fit Shell’s best feature is its slim design. It adds very little in terms of both size and weight, keeping your phone at a manageable heft and ensuring it’s still easy to slide the phone in and out of your pocket or bag. The case of course also includes cutouts for all buttons and features, ensuring that your experience using the Nexus 5X isn’t altered in any way.
Spigen Ultra Hybrid

Our second case is the Ultra Hybrid, one of Spigen’s most popular models. The Ultra Hybrid is transparent, allowing you to see your chosen colour of Nexus 5X clearly though the case. The Ultra Hybrid also scores well on the protection front, thanks to a dual-material design. That design combines a TPU back cover with a polycarbonate bumper, ensuring both full-back scratch protection and good drop protection.
The case is one of the first to come with Spigen’s new anti-scratch clear coating, allowing the case to remain clear and in good condition for longer. The case also includes the same cutouts as you’ll find on the Thin Fit Shell that we looked at earlier, so you can still use the 5X with total ease.
