First Nexus 6P cases launched from Verus

The first third-party cases for the Nexus 6P have been launched, as Google finally announced the new phone at its press event on Wednesday. The first case that we’d like to feature is the Verus High Pro Shield, a protective case that boasts a beautiful look in a range of colours.

The critical design element of the High Pro Shield is its dual-material construction, consisting of a hard polycarbonate shell wrapped around a TPU core. This combination has gotten increasingly popular as of late, thanks to its ability to provide better protection than either material working alone.

The case’s protection is enhanced with several small details, as well. First, there is a 1.3mm lip around the phone’s screen, preventing any direct hits and redirecting the force of a drop away from the most vulnerable area. Second, there’s a small air pocket in each corner, which provides a cushioning effect in the event of a fall. If you’re looking for a slim but highly protective case, then the High Pro Shield is a great choice.

The case looks great too, with six colour options available. Each has an attractive two tone design, including a hairline texture on the back of the phone that looks great and even adds a bit of grip.

One important thing to note is that the photos in this article and on the product page currently don’t reflect the final product in one respect: the camera cutout will be enlarged to ensure that the laser autofocus system isn’t blocked. We’ve seen a few disappointed comments on the case online for this reason, and we would like to reassure everyone that this will be a non-issue in the final shipping product.
