Motorola Moto E: sim-free phone and cases coming to Mobile Fun

Motorola has been on a tear recently. The Moto X was acknowledged as a beautifully crafted phone with good hardware and some clever features, then the Moto G was a great distillation of those features at a very attractive price point. Now, Motorola are offering an even more affordable phone that still offers the same great features and decent hardware at a crazily low price point. Say hello to the Motorola Moto E!

The Moto E is a sim-free phone that sells for just £95, but it looks better than phones double or triple the price. A lot of that comes down to the display; the Moto E has a 4.3″ qHD screen protected by Gorilla glass and a water-repellent coating. Inside, you’ll find the efficient Snapdragon 200 processor, 4 GB of internal storage and a micoSD card slot. On the rear of the phone there’s a 5 megapixel camera and a replaceable battery cover. All in all, it’s clear to see the same solid design that proved so popular on the Moto X and the Moto G – and that quality is impressive given the price point.

Let’s take a closer look at that replaceable rear cover, too. Customisation has been a strong component of Motorola’s recent phones, from the made-to-order Moto X to the scores of colourful accessories for the Moto G. With the Moto E, it’s very much the same – you can replace the default black cover with your choice of eight different Moto E cases with (mostly) tasty names. There’s cherry, lemon lime, raspberry, royal blue, turquoise, violet, green and chalk. Each cover is cheap too, so you can pick up a few different colours and change your Moto E as the mood takes you.

With a solid design, decent specifications and plenty of customisation options, the Moto E looks like a strong contender for ‘budget phone of the year’. If you’d like to get one of your very own, check out the link for the phone below:
