The ultimate Galaxy S4 case has finally arrived

Samsung produce some lovely first-party accessories for their handsets… but they’re not quite as good at actually delivering those accessories as they are at designing them. For that reason, one of the very best cases for the Samsung Galaxy S4 has only recently been released, 10 months after the phone it was designed for. The new case is called the S-View Flip Cover & Qi Charging Case. Its long name belies a simple purpose: combining the clear plastic window of the S View cover with the wireless charging of the Qi Charging Cover.

If you’re not familiar with these cases, we’ll give you a quick run-through.

The S View is like your standard flip folio case, but there’s a clear plastic window cut into the middle of the flip cover. That means you don’t need to open the case to see incoming calls, check the time or see how many steps you’ve taken today. All of this information is presented in that little square. The touch-screen works through the plastic too, so you can answer or reject calls too.

The Qi Charging Case is a replacement rear cover for the Galaxy S4, which is slightly thicker than the stock battery cover and includes a coil of wired hooked up to a metal patch on the rear of the phone. This allows wireless charging to be used, in combination with any Qi standard wireless charger.

So very simply, the S View Flip Cover & Qi Charging Case combines both of these features into a single unit; something that wasn’t possible just by manually combining the two elements by yourself. It’s a clever case that provides screen protection, wireless charging, easy access to notifications and a slim build all in one.
