Edit: We’ve tested our top car holders and desk stands compatibility with the extended battery. Check it out!
We’ve been selling our official Samsung Galaxy S2 Extended Battery Kits like hot cakes, and we’ve just got them back in stock. The 2000 mAh that the extended battery contains means you can go a day and a half without charging, and as it’s made by Samsung it’s ensured to be top quality and a perfect fit.
To save you a bit of time, we’re posting a list of which cases are or aren’t compatible with the slightly enlarged back cover. That means you’ll be able to check if your current case will fit with the new battery, or if you decide to pick up a new one you can make sure that one will fit. We’ve also noted down the colour of the case, so you can make sure it matches your style.
Let’s have a look at that list then, with the research courtesy of the good people at the XDA Developers forum.
If you’d like to let others know that your case does or doesn’t fit, let the original poster on the XDA Developers forum, diablous, know by posting in the thread or you can let us know via Twitter or Facebook.
Would this be compatible with this Samsung galaxy s2 flip case?: http://www.samsung-direct.co.uk/en/products/accessories/mobile-devices/cases-2/samsung/galaxy-sll-flip-case-black-black#tabbedArea
fwiw i went for the Case-Mate Tough. it’s a REALLY tight fit, but it does fit. one problem though: the Power and Volume buttons are become recessed with the SGS2+Extended Battery Kit fully in place. i mean REALLY recessed, as in you kind of have to dig to get at them. i fiddled around for an hour, pulling out and redoing the phone placement (in particular the little raised silicon edges for the speaker and the camera were a bear to get settled properly). finally managed it and was fairly happy.
then it occurred to me: maybe the thing is just too snug in there! and why does the phone need all that backing material? so i peeled the phone out, yanked off the new plastic phone back that comes with the Extended Battery, and shoved the phone back in. bliss! everything fit nicely, sweet and sassy! in particular the silicon tabs over the Power and Volume buttons were nicely raised and easy to use. all is good!
hopefully silicon against the phone’s guts will not be a problem. fingers crossed.
beautiful case by the way, all thumbs up!
