Will an iPhone 6S tempered glass screen protector work with 3D Touch?

3D Touch is the headline feature on the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, allowing you to press deeply into the phone to peek at previews or pop into selections. From the early reviews it looks like the feature is quite brilliant, but a lot of people have been asking us whether screen protectors will be 3D Touch compatible.
