I hate losing my keys. I only find out I’ve misplaced them when I need to go, now, and it’s caused me to miss a fair few buses and trains over the years. I could get a key rack, but I don’t really have enough keys to justify it. Instead, I’m getting a KeyCatch — a magnetic key holder that takes up no space, mounts almost anywhere and allows for a rapid release of keys so I don’t miss the bus ever again. Let’s take a closer look.
The Keycatch is pretty simple: a 9 gram circle, made from two materials: ABS plastic and a tiny alnico magnet. The back of the Keycatch has a sticky (but non-permanent) adhesive, allowing it to stick to walls, doors, desks, light switches and basically anything that’s relatively flat and smooth. Push it into position, and move your keys near the Keycatch. The magnet will pull your keys in, and hold them in position until you pull them away and break the connection.
Of course, this is made for key rings, but this will work to hold onto anything ferromagnetic — so you could use for your sunglasses, a pen, a pair of scissors, a screwdriver, etc etc. It even comes with three metal keyrings, so you can hold onto anything you can put through a keyring! Put on your thinking cap and I’m sure you’ll come up with a bunch of creative uses.
