Official Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus accessories are expected to arrive this week at Mobile Fun. Let’s have a quick run-through of the range, and we’ll go into more hands-on detail once our shipment comes in!
Official Samsung Keyboard Cover
The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have bigger screens than ever before, but if you’re not a fan of software keyboards it’s still possible to get your BlackBerry-style typing fix with this official keyboard case. The idea here is that you have a combination of case and keyboard, and the keyboard can either be clipped over the bottom portion of the screen or put on the back of the case for safe keeping when it’s not in use. That means you can get that tactile feedback hardcore typists crave, without needing to dig out an old BlackBerry (or pay a lot for a new BlackBerry KeyOne, come to think of it). As well as being nicely portable, this bespoke solution is also uniquely tailored to the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, with convenient hotkeys for opening the web browser, checking your emails, going to your music player and so forth. It also works by touching the Galaxy S8’s screen directly instead of communicating over Bluetooth, so it requires no power and therefore never needs to be charged – super convenient. If you’re a fan of writing long texts, emails or reports on your phone, then this is a great choice to maximise your comfort and performance!
Official Samsung Screen Protector
This official screen protector is cut to fit the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus exactly, and is able to stretch even the curved edges of the phone. With the new minimal bezels of Samsung’s 2017 design, having a good screen protector is going to be more important than ever before, and this is a great way to get one that you can rest assured is a perfect fit.
Official Samsung Galaxy Wireless Fast Charger
This wireless fast charger uses Samsung’s Adaptive Fast Charging technology, allowing it to recharge your phone almost as fast as the best wired chargers. There’s a big difference in performance between this model and previous generations, and it’s well worth trying if you thought wireless charging was just too slow to be practical. Available in two colour schemes.

Official Samsung DeX Station Display Dock & Wireless Charger
This one is interesting. Samsung DeX is a new addition for the Galaxy S8, and is rumoured to stand for ‘desktop experience.’ The idea is similar to Microsoft’s Continuum: plug your phone into a hub that’s connected to a display, keyboard and mouse, and you’ll get a full desktop experience while still having access to your phone’s apps, media and contacts. That could be great for someone that just wants one device, rather than spending their lives syncing and transferring media between desktop, laptop, smartphone and tablet. Of course, as well as connecting your phone to your monitor and peripherals, the dock also provides wireless charging so you won’t run out of battery halfway through the work day.
Official Samsung Starter Kits
Samsung is also debuting a collection of starter kits for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. There are two starter kits available; one at £70 and the other at £80. That suggests that we’ll see quite a lot included; I would expect a case, a dock, maybe a car holder or a portable charger. Right now we’re not sure what will be included, so check back later to find out whether these starter packs are right for you!
