Can I install Android on my iPhone?

Q: Can I install Android on my iPhone?

A: Short answer: No. Long answer: No, you can’t. Sorry.

Q: What’s the next best thing?

A: Buy an HTC One A9. It looks kind of like an iPhone, but it runs Android.

Q: Does it really look like an iPhone?

A: Yeah, look. The HTC one is the one that says HTC on the back, in the middle.

Q: Oh! Is it as good as an iPhone?

A: Yes. It’s very fast, has a good camera and has generally had good reviews. It runs the very latest version of Android, 6.0 Marshmallow, and feels very smooth and responsive. It’s also much cheaper than the average iPhone, particularly if you want to have a lot of storage space.

It’s pretty too, just look at this photo from The Guardian‘s 4-star review:

Q: What’s the cost, then?

A: Right now we’re selling the One A9 sim-free and unlocked for £436. You can check the latest price here (or even order one, if you want to end this conversation early). That’s for the 16GB model, but it has a Micro SD card slot so you can get an extra 16, 32 or 64GB of space very cheaply.

Q: How much are SD cards? Are they as good as internal storage?

A: They’re not quite as fast as a phone’s internal memory, but for storing photos or recording videos that doesn’t really matter as long as you’re buying ones with a Class 10 speed rating, or higher. At the time of writing, a 16GB card costs £11, a 32GB card is £15, a 64GB model is £25.

Q: Yeah, that’s not too bad. What’s the biggest SD card you can use in the One A9?

A: In theory, it should be compatible with cards with a capacity of 2,000GB! In practice though, Sandisk have only just recently released a 200GB model, so it’s going to take a while to get to 2,000GB.

Q: Fair enough. You sure about that One A9? Definitely good?

A: Yup, have a look at our One A9 reviews roundup if you like. Its biggest downside was seen as its high price, which has fallen as of late… and it still managed a good 7.5 rating.

Q: Cool, thanks for having this totally real conversation with me.

A: No problem, any time.
