Retailers Argos are not normally known for breaking tech news, but this week an errant staffer of the firm has done just that. Product pages for two unannounced Motorola phones, the Moto E Styx and Moto G Titan, were accidentally published on the Argos site. While the pages lacked any images, they did include fairly comprehensive specifications for the two upcoming handsets. Here’s what was revealed!

Moto G Titan

The Moto G Titan is a new five-inch phone, with a slightly wider 1280 x 768 display than the second-generation Moto G. Other highlighted features are an unnamed quad-core processor, stereo speakers and Android 5.0. The Titan also comes with an 8-megapixel camera, 4G connectivity and 8GB of internal storage (plus micro SD). The phone should retail for £160.

Moto E Styx

The Moto E Styx is a less expensive alternative to the Moto G Titan, with a 4.3-inch 960 x 540 display and a 5-megapixel camera. A quad-core processor would improve upon the original Moto E’s dual-core CPU, while storage space is doubled from 4 to 8GB and 4G connectivity is included for the first time. The phone will retail for £110.

Availability

It’s not clear when the Moto G Titan and Moto E Styx were set to be announced, but it’s possible we’ll see them before the Mobile World Congress in early March given the timing of this accidental leak.

We’ll be supporting both phones with a full range of cases and accessories.
