Amp case gives your iPhone 6 dual front-facing speakers, more battery life

The new iPhone 6 is pretty awesome. It has a new design with a bigger screen, a better camera and faster internals. One thing that hasn’t changed is the phone’s audio tech – you’re still looking at just a single downward-firing speaker. It’s disappointing, particularly when Android rivals like HTC and Motorola are moving to include dual front-facing speakers, which sound far better. Thankfully, there’s an answer – the Amp case.

The Amp case fixes the Apple audio problem, adding twin front-facing speakers and some special tech to sweeten the deal. This technology is described by The Verge as “adaptive EQ”; the Amp listens to ambient noise and adjusts what it’s playing to compensate. This works whether you’re using the speakers, or just listening to music on your headphones.

The Amp case also comes with a built-in battery pack, which powers both the speakers and your iPhone 6. The speakers can blast audio for about seven hours before their reserves are exhausted; just using the ambient mic and headphones will grant you twenty hours instead. You’ll also get about 20% more battery life from your iPhone while the case is on – a nice reversal from some speaker cases which leave you with less battery life overall.
