Late last week we covered the enCharge battery case for the Xperia Z2, and now we’re back with the same dealio for the HTC One M8. The enCharge Battery Case provides an additional 4500 mAh of battery power for the One M8, allowing you to stretch your battery life to three or four days at a time. The One M8 has a smaller 2600 mAh battery than the Z2’s 3200 mAh unit, so you’ll find the 4500 mAh provided by the enCharge case makes even more of a difference. If you’re finding it hard to get to the end of the day with your current workload, then it’s a lot easier to just add more battery power than it is to go through your phone, turning off all the services and features that make it an interesting and useful smartphone in the first place.
Of course, this One M8 case doesn’t just provide battery power. It also adds a considerable amount of protection to the device. The vulnerable rear of the phone will be protected by the bulk of the battery, allowing it to shrug off small falls and harsh knocks with aplomb. It also goes without saying that the scratch protection provided is impressive too, with full coverage of the back and sides to prevent unsightly marks that’ll lower your One M8’s resale value. The enCharge case also includes a kickstand on its back side, ideal for watching movies and playing games in landscape orientation.
The enCharge battery case is also quite impressive in that it doesn’t actually add that much bulk – you do get a fair bit more than you’d see from a standard slim case, but the overall effect is less than you’d imagine. Your One M8 will remain pocketable, and will still fit in some generously sized One M8 accessories too. Of course, removing the battery case is easy enough as well if anything doesn’t fit.
