Earlier this week we posted about some cases for the upcoming (yet unannounced) Galaxy S5 Mini, and now we’ve moved on to the phone itself. We’ll be offering the phone sim-free and unlocked, a nice complement to our range of Galaxy S5 Mini accessories. For more information on the phone, read on!
The Galaxy S5 Mini follows a similar story as we’ve seen with previous Mini phones. It looks like its bigger brother, the Galaxy S5, but includes some toned-down specifications in order to achieve a vastly lower price.
We’re expecting the S5 Mini to ship with a new quad-core Exynos processor and 16 GB of internal memory (which is double that of last year’s Mini). As with most other Galaxy phones, you’ll also enjoy a microSD card slot that can allow you to add up to 64 GB of additional storage. The phone also includes a 8-megapixel rear camera and a 4.5″ qHD Super AMOLED display running at 1280 x 720 resolution. 4G LTE connectivity and Bluetooth 4.0 complete the picture. These specifications are very close to last year’s flagship Galaxy S4.
In fact, the Galaxy S5 Mini is better than the leading-edge Galaxy S4 from last year in some ways. The S5 Mini has a waterproof enclosure with an IP67 rating, as well as an integrated fingerprint scanner that allows you to unlock your phone with a swipe – as well as make PayPal and Play Store payments!
