The Moto E looks set to continue Motorola’s trend of producing best-selling low-cost Android smartphones. The Moto G has seen great success with that formula, and now the Moto E is hitting at an even lower price point. The new case is called the Motorola Grip Shell Case, and it comes in five colours: black, white, royal blue, lemon lime and cherry – a similar range of colours to those we’ve seen for past Motorola handsets. There’s a two-tone colour scheme at work here, as the bumper remains black and the shell within is one of those five colours. The cases look equally well designed too, made up of a rubberised frame and a polycarbonate shell.
That rubberised frame provides additional grip, ensuring your phone doesn’t slide off a desk or get dropped. The Moto E is reasonably durable, but preventing these kind of accidents in the first place should definitely extend the useful life of your handset.
The frame also provides a barrier against drops and knocks that do occur, deadening the impact and spreading the force around the handset. This helps prevent the screen from taking critical damage and cracking, a sad fate for any phone.
The shell that covers the rest of the phone also serves dual purposes. Firstly, the shell covers the body of the phone, preventing scratches from accumulating. Secondly, you’re able to customise the look of your phone with the colours on offer.
