HTC One Mini 2 revealed, available for pre-order at Mobile Fun

Update: The One Mini 2 has been announced by HTC! We’ll have more information on the phone and its accessories in the coming days.

The HTC One M8 is an awesome phone, but its five inch display is too big for some tastes. If you count yourself among that group, then you’ll be happy to know that the smaller, cheaper and generally more accessible HTC One Mini 2 is coming soon.

According to information published by Gizmodo UK, the One Mini 2 has already begun appearing in a British retailer’s inventory system, suggesting that its announcement may not be far away. The phone is listed as coming in both silver and gray versions, and a press photo from evleaks indicates that we’ll see a gold colorway as well.

evleaks has also published specifications for the device, suggesting we’ll see a slightly less powerful phone than the original One M8, but significantly faster than last year’s One Mini. The One Mini 2 will come with a 4.5-inch 720p display and a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor running at 1.4 GHz.

Interestingly, the One Mini looks like it’ll come with a standard 13 megapixel camera, rather than a single or dual Ultrapixel camera as we saw on the One M7 and One M8, respectively. That means that you may get better pictures from the One Mini 2 than the flagship model, particularly in sunny situations that favour higher megapixel counts.

Overall, the HTC One Mini 2 looks like a solid mid-range phone that should benefit from that strong rear camera, HTC’s modern software and the sweet front-facing dual speakers.

The sim-free HTC One Mini 2 will be available unlocked from Mobile Fun as soon as it’s available. You can see more information and place your pre-order via the product page linked below.

We’re also preparing a full range of accessories for the new handset. You can have a look at our HTC One Mini 2 accessories – including cases, covers, chargers and other words that may or may not begin with the letter c, at the links in this very sentence.
