Earlier today we introduced an innovative Samsung Multi Charging Cable, able to charge three devices from a single USB port. Now, we’d like to show you another clever cable from Samsung: the Power Sharing Cable.

The Power Sharing Cable is a double-ended microUSB cable, which is used to charge one device using the battery of another. That means you can use one smartphone to charge another smartphone, a tablet, a smartwatch, or accessories like Bluetooth headsets.

I’ve often found myself in situations where one of my devices has had power, but another was about to die – so this power sharing cable makes a lot of sense to me. With this cable, you can share your power across all of your devices, ensuring that the one you need the most always has enough charge to get you through the day.

The cable is really easy to use – just plug in one end to the device you want to charge, and the other end to the device you want to use as the power source. There are helpful arrows on the plugs, so you’ll be able to easily visualise the direction the power is traveling in.

There’s also a special on-board interface ensures that all of your battery isn’t used up while you’re charging unattended – at the moment this functionality is found on the Galaxy S5, while the Galaxy S4, Note 3 and Note 2 will all be supported from their next firmware update.

This cable is perfect for the Galaxy S5, considering the 2800 mAh capacity and overall improved battery life of the phone. It’s particularly well-suited for using the Galaxy S5 together with a smartwatch like the new Galaxy Gear 2 or Gear Fit.
