The OnePlus One is one of the most exciting smartphones to be announced this year, offering a tremendous amount of hardware power with CyanogenMod Android 4.4 at a very low price. We’re beginning to prepare our range of OnePlus One accessories, and today I’m happy to unveil the very first one: the MFX OnePlus One Tempered Glass Screen Protector.
Tempered glass screen protectors have only recently emerged in the mobile market, but it’s clear to see why they have had such a rapid adoption rate recently. Glass provides a much more significant barrier against scratches and impacts, preventing damage for longer. While plastic screen protectors tend to need replacing often, glass tends to be more durable, often lasting the lifetime of your phone. The glass used in this screen protector has a hardness value of 9H, and comes with an anti-shatter coating that ensures even if the glass is cracked, it won’t fall to pieces and remains safe to handle.
Another advantage comes in light penetration. Many plastic screen protectors only let around 80% of light to pass through the protector, resulting in a noticeably dimmer screen. This tempered screen protector, on the other hand, has a light penetration value of 95%, almost the same as not wearing a screen protector at all.
This tempered glass screen protector for the OnePlus One doesn’t add much thickness either – in fact, adding just 0.26mm to the phone. That’s barely noticeable compared with the 8.9mm thickness of the phone itself. Installation is easy too, as you don’t need to worry about bubbles as you would with a plastic screen protector.
