These iPhone 5 and 5S cases have a radical look, with a thick blocky case wrought out of a transparent plastic. The overall appearance is that of an oversized ice cube, as the name would imply. It’s quite a fun concept, and surprisingly well rendered. If you want a case that is slightly absurd and will turn heads, this is quite a neat choice.
The case is also quite good from a practical point of view as well. The phone is well protected from drops and scratches, thanks to the thick lip around the screen. The rear of the phone is also thick enough for a stand to be integrated, allowing you to prop up the phone to see incoming notifications or watch videos. Finally, the unique clear housing allows LED notifications to reverberate around the case, making for a cool ambient effect in low lighting.
One potential downside to the case is that it is bulkier and heavier than other cases, which typically wrap around the phone and nothing more. Thankfully, that bulk is put to use, both through the inclusion of features like those listed above, and to protect the phone within.
