Two official LG cases for the Google Nexus 5

We’re already building a wide range of Nexus 5 accessories here at Mobile Fun, but I thought I’d highlight two of these items for you today. These are the two official cases for the Nexus 5, made by LG, called the LG QuickCover and the Official Nexus 5 Bumper. Let’s take a closer look at each!

LG QuickCover

We’ll start with the QuickCover. Now this Nexus 5 case is quite attractive, combining a thin cover with a case that covers the corners and back panel of the phone. The QuickCover has a stylish matte finish, which looks great and adds a bit of grip as well. The case should be enough to resist scratches as well as minor impacts, making a good choice for extending the life of your Nexus 5.

The front cover is compatible with the Nexus 5’s sleep/wake function, automatically turning on the screen when the cover is opened and locking it when the cover is closed. This means it doesn’t take any longer to unlock the phone with the cover installed. Of course, this flip cover is essential for keeping the phone’s screen scratch-free too.

As this Nexus 5 cover is made by LG, the manufacturers of the Nexus 5 and the G2 upon which its based, you’ll find that this cover fits the Nexus 5 perfectly. All buttons are easily accessible, and even the oversized camera and flash on the rear of the device are fully accommodated.

Overall, this is a nice choice that should provide a lot of protection to the Nexus 5 and give it a cool, professional look.

LG Official Nexus 5 Bumper

Our second official option is the official Nexus 5 bumper, which combines a hard outer bumper with a soft rubber lining, in a bunch of eye-catching colours on top of the normal white and black. We’re featuring the yellow version initially – although I expect we’ll be adding the remainder of the colours soon.

The bumper is slim and lightweight, making it ideal for anyone that is already a bit worried about the prospect of a 5″ phone in their pocket.  If you don’t like having a flip cover or other added bulk on your phone, then this is the obvious choice.

The bumper also adds a bit of grip, so you’re less likely to drop it. However, the screen does remain more exposed to scratches, so pairing this case with a Nexus 5 screen protector is a good idea.

If you’re looking for an ultra-lightweight solution, then this should be a good option.
