Belkin Conserve Valet – an energy-efficient USB charging station

The Belkin Conserve Valet is an energy efficient USB charging station with the right green credentials and a convenient form factor. With four USB charging ports, it can provide a tidy way to charge up to four mobile devices at once. For more details, check out the video below or read on!

The biggest advantage of the Conserve Valet is that it makes charging your myriad devices much easier. Instead of taking up four plug sockets with one charger each, you can eliminate the tangle of wires and instead just plug everything into one place. Each of the four USB ports provides 500 mA of charge, the same as you’d get from USB on a computer. There are three USB ports on the back side of the Conserve Valet and one on the side, making it easy to charge three phones on the secure pad and one other item, like a tablet or gamepad, on the side. You can wind your original USB cables around the station to tidy them up and keep them out of view, or you can use the short USB leads provided (one each for Mini and Micro USB). As it’s just plain USB ports, anything from Nokia chargers to an iPhone charger should work just fine.

The Conserve Valet is also incredibly energy efficient compared to other USB charging options. It only turns on when you press the power button, and it will turn off four hours later. This is more than enough time to charge each of the devices connected, and if a new device is connected then that four hour timer will reset. Conversely, if all devices are removed then the hub will turn off. This arrangement saves power, which will save you money and is also good for the planet.
