Arcadie is quite a novel idea – an eight bit arcade console for your iPhone. Now, it’s not just a selection of classic 8 bit apps – it’s also a miniature arcade cabinet that slots seamlessly over the iPhone to provide a tiny yet realistic arcade experience. The plug and play connection allows you to just keep the cabinet in your bag or pocket, then pull it out and insert your iPhone into it whenever you’re ready for some retro action – no wires, no batteries, no Bluetooth configuration.
You’ll be able to carry around a portable arcade package that will amuse your friends and amaze ants. There’s an old school arcade stick and two buttons that cleverly map into touch inputs on your screen’s phone, allowing you to play a selection of arcade titles from the app store just like the originals. That includes classics like Asteroids (Arcadie Blasteroids), Space Invaders (Arcadie Alien Invaders), Defender (Arcadie Defender), Pong (Arcadie Ping) and many more.
The Arcadie is compatible with all iPhone models currently released (we don’t know about the iPhone 5), as well as the third and fourth generation iPod Touch models.
