Sim-free HTC Desire X prices released at Mobile Fun

The latest HTC handset, the HTC Desire X, has been unveiled at the IFA 2012 trade show in Berlin.

The new phone should slot between the existing HTC One V and HTC Desire C. That means it’s outside the One family of devices, but it still has much of the same design cues and charm.

The Desire X includes a 4″ WVGA display that The Verge describe as one of the best they’ve ever seen. This is down to use of the same optical lamination technology that was found in the top of the line One X. The Desire X is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon S4 Play processor at 1 GHz. There’s 768 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage, bolstered by 32 GB of micro SD space and 25 GB of Dropbox storage.

The chassis is slimmer than you’d imagine for a phone this inexpensive, just 9.69 mm. It also includes the same speaker grilles, curves and edge-to-edge display of the One X, giving it the look of a much more expensive smartphone. The chassis includes an offset rear 5 megapixel camera, below which is a full size SIM card slot, SD card slot and a 1650 mAh battery.

At Mobile Fun, the sim-free HTC Desire X will be available in white and black. As of the 31st of August, the price is expected to be under £225. No release date has yet been confirmed.

We’ll also be stocking a wide range of HTC Desire X accessories, including cases, covers, screen protectors and car kits. We’ll be covering new products as they’re announced, so be sure to check back here for the latest news.
