Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 is an awesome smartphone-controlled quadrocopter

The AR.Drone 2.0 is just really awesome. It’s a quadrocopter that you can control using your phone or tablet. It’s video games meets the real world – because there’s a video camera on the AR.Drone, you can fly it around with a streaming first person perspective. You can even record HD stills and video of your voyages.

If you’ve got two AR.Drones, it gets even cooler – the two craft can have a 1v1 duel in the sky, where each player will try to score hits on their opponent while avoiding the shots of their rival. You can also just chase each other around and generally have a good time exploring the world from the air.

Thanks to the quadrocoper’s four rotors that are much more stable than a traditional single rotor helicopter, the AR.Drone 2.0 is stable and easy to fly, simply put it’s one of the best iPhone accessories around. You can start with easy manoeuvres, but soon you’ll be able to do all manner of acrobatic tricks.

The AR.Drone 2.0 is small and durable, so it’s equally at home indoors and out – there’s even a special carbon hull that’ll protect the contents of your home when flying indoors.
