Sony Ericsson MW600: a different approach to a stereo Bluetooth headset

Most stereo Bluetooth headsets feel large and bulky, like old school headphones.  The Sony Ericsson MW600 represents a different approach – instead of trying to stuff everything onto your head, why not retain that useful in-line remote and use that to control your tunes?

The approach works so well because it allows the in-ear headphones to be as light as possible, moving all of the electronics down the wire to the inline remote, which also contains an OLED display. Here, you can see lots of useful information, including the current song, volume level, battery levels and more.

The MW600 also adds an FM radio to whatever it’s connected to, cleverly using the attached headphones as the aerial. That means if you can enjoy live FM radio even on an iPhone or other smartphone that doesn’t come with it naturally. You’re even free to swap out the included in-ear headphones for your own favourite pair, allowing you to upgrade any headphone with wireless Bluetooth capabilities.

Of course, this isn’t just for music. The MW600 is also a great headset for answering your calls with as well, with a high quality integrated microphone and easy to use controls. The hands free device also is ideal for in-car use, as it can easily be clipped to your lapel for perfect positioning.

The MW600 also includes some of the latest Bluetooth technologies such as A2DP music straming and Multipoint, which allows you to connect two devices (e.g. two phones, or a phone and a laptop) at the same time and intelligently switches between the two.

The MW600 is a design classic and one of the best designed stereo Bluetooth headsets. For more information, check out the Sony Ericsson MW600 product page.
