Best Samsung Wave Accessories

With so many accessories available for phones these days, finding the best ones can be a bit of a mission. We’re often asked on the blog and forums, “what’s the best case for my phone” or “which is the best bluetooth headset”, but as there is no right and wrong answer it’s not always easy to say.

The Samsung Wave has been on sale for a few weeks now and is one of the most asked about phones. We’ve looked at what you’ve been asking and spent some time going through all of the accessories available to see which are the most popular, highest rated etc and have come up with our guide to some of the best Samsung Wave accessories.

Best Samsung Wave Case: Genuine Samsung Wave Premium Flip Case

There are so many different styles of case; Leather, Silicone, Clip on, Pouches, the list is almost endless, but personally I think the simpler the case is the better. The Genuine Samsung Flip wins as my favourite case for the Wave due to it’s simple, compact design. Unlike most flip cases, you don’t have to put your Wave into a leather pocket. Instead, you remove your existing battery cover and attach this case in it’s place. The cover then folds around from the bottom of the phone to protect the screen, bottom edges and back of your phone against bumps and scratches.

Best Samsung Wave Headphones: Skullcandy Titan Headphones

I’ve had the pleasure of using a set of these headphones for the past few weeks at work and have to say they’re so much better than the standard headphones included in the box with the Wave. Sound comes through clear and sharp and bass is great too. I tend to listen to general chart music and podcasts which isn’t particularly heavy when it comes to bass. These are only headphones though, not a hands free kit, so you can’t use them for calling. At the time of putting this guide together there wasn’t a decent alternative hands free kit available that we could confirm will work with the Wave.

Best Samsung Wave Bluetooth Headset: Jawbone Icon

If you use your phone in the car you should have a bluetooth headset or car kit – They’re the safest and legal way to use your phone for calling when you’re driving. As with phone cases, the range of bluetooth headsets can be overwhelming as there are just so many to choose from – all promising the same thing – exceptional call quality and easy to use controls. The Jawbone Icon delivers on both of these promises. It uses the latest Jawbone technology that not only detects vibrations in your jawbone but also uses dual microphones to eliminate background noise.

What makes this headset my favourite though is the extra stuff it does. It supports ‘voice apps’ – small downloadable apps that add extra functionality to the headset – for example voice overs for battery levels and caller ID and support for A2DP.

Best Samsung Wave Bluetooth Headphones: Samsung SBH-650 Stereo Bluetooth Headset

Not content with listening to your music through just one ear? Then you need this! It’s a stereo bluetooth headset that allows you to listen to music and videos from your Wave without wires and using your own 3.5mm headphones if you prefer. It’s multipoint which means that you can pair it and use it with your PC and phone or PS3 and Wave at the same time. It has buttons to control your music playback and can be worn around your neck or clipped to your clothes. For more information on the SBH-650 read my hands on review.

Best Samsung Wave Car Kit: Jabra Cruiser

If you use your phone as your MP3 player, listening to your tunes in the car can be an unpleasant experience. Some car stereo’s allow you to connect your phone using a 3.5mm audio cable, others force you to use those really awful cassette adapters. Fortunately there is another option – one that doesn’t require cables, adapters or complicated set up – the Jabra Cruiser.

The Cruiser has a built in FM transmitter, so as well as being a bluetooth car kit for calls, you can also use it to stream music from your Samsung Wave to your car radio. Controlling your music is simple as all the controls you will need are on the Cruiser. You can play, pause, fast forward and rewind without having to touch your phone.

Best Samsung Wave Screen Protector: InvisibleShield Screen Protector

InvisibleShields are still one of the best ways to protect your Wave. They’re available as full phone protectors or screen protectors. They are made from a tough, thin plastic film that has been vigorously tested and can withstand scratches from hand drills, screws, nails and being kicked across the floor (although we wouldn’t suggest trying it for yourself). They can be removed from the phone in no time at all and it won’t leave any sticky residue behind either. They add little/no bulk to the Samsung Wave and can be used in conjunction with most other cases and covers.

Best Samsung Wave Car Holder: Dash Genie Car Holder

The Dash Genie is an ingenious car holder that uses suction to attach itself to your dashboard and will hold your Wave securely without having to mess around with adjustable arms. The ‘Red Dot’ sticks to the flat back of your handset and holds it securely. Don’t just take my word for it. Mobile Fun’s very own Stig took it for a test drive and you can see the results on the Mobile Fun YouTube Channel.

Best Samsung Wave Car Charger: Samsung Wave Car Charger

The Samsung Wave is smarter and more powerful than previous models. Its large, bright touch screen uses more power – especially if you use Sat Nav, internet & email. The Samsung Wave Car charger will keep your phone powered and recharge the battery while you’re in the car. This one is made by Samsung specifically for their Micro USB handsets. It won’t fall apart after a few weeks or cause any damage to your phone.

Best Samsung Wave Memory Card: SanDisk MicroSDHC Card – 16GB

The Samsung Wave only has a limited amount of internal storage – 1.5GB. As a result, one of the first purchases you will need to make is a memory card. Using a SanDisk 16GB Memory Card with the Wave will allow you to store more music, games, photos and videos on your phone. Images and video taken using the camera will take up lots more space, so more memory is a must. A 16GB memory card will let you store over 6000 high quality photos, 3000 songs or around 80 hours of standard definition video. A larger 32GB Micro SD HC memory card is also available.
