Top 10 Accessories for the Nokia X6

The Nokia X6 isn’t just another touch screen phone from Nokia, It’s a multimedia beast. Not only is the handset the first from Nokia to have a capacative touchscreen (no more stylus!) it’s their first real attempt at a phone to challenge the best of the current touch screen phones available. Along with the gorgeous display, the X6 has a massive 32GB of internal memory, eliminating the need for memory cards and giving you plenty of space for all your photos music and videos.  To keep your handset looking its best and to really make the most of all of its features there are a number of accessories you can treat yourself to, but with such a wide range of X6 Cases, X6 Headphones, Bluetooth Headphones and X6 Chargers available, choosing the right ones for you can be a bit of a minefield.

1. Nokia X6 Case CP-389

A Mobile Fun favourite – the Nokia CP-389 carry pouch is a custom made horizontal pouch made exclusively for the Nokia X6. It’s a hard-wearing Leather case, discretely embossed with a Nokia logo. It holds your X6 securely and allows you to use it in both portrait and landscape mode without having to remove it from the case. There is a secure belt clip on the back, and a strong magnetic catch to keep the case closed. The inside of the case has a microfibre lining that helps to keep your X6 clean and fingerprint free.

2. Nokia X6 Car Charger DC-6

The Nokia X6 great for taking photos, checking your email, watching videos and using Nokia Maps as your Sat Nav system – but as with every other smartphone, any application that relies on an internet connection will drain your battery. The X6 uses the now standard Micro USB charger, so any older Nokia chargers won’t work with them. This DC-6 Car Charger will charge any Micro USB device including phones and Bluetooth Headsets.

The Etymotic HF2 headphones are the world’s first in-ear, high fidelity, noise-isolating headset. They allow you to enjoy clearer communication and better quality music playback from your X6. The Etymotic HF-2 has a built in microphone that can be used for phone calls, as well as a multi function button that can be used to control music playback on your X6. 5. Nokia WH-701 In-Ear Headset

Not everyone is going to want to use the headphones that are included with the Nokia X6. The ‘over the head’ style of headphone is great for when you’re lounging around at home, but not so great if you need something discrete for the journey to work or to use while you’re sat at your desk. The Nokia Stereo Headset WH-701 is a comfortable handsfree headset that still gives you full control of your calls and music. With its discreet size, a tangle-free cable, and three pairs of soft earpads, this headset is both easy to use and comfortable to wear.

6. Nokia BH-505 Stereo Bluetooth Headset

The Nokia BH-505 Stereo Bluetooth Headset is Nokia’s latest stereo headset, and to be honest its probably the best one yet. It has incredibly simple controls – a multi use button lets you play/pause your music as well as answer/end calls and activate voice dialling.

7. X-Mini II Portable Speaker for Nokia X6

The X-mini II Speaker is a compact single speaker that’s not much bigger than a golf ball (when closed). It has a short 3.5mm audio cable built into it’s base that connects to the 3.5mm headphone socket on the X6. It has an inbuilt battery that can last for up to 11 hours on a single charge and is a great alternative to listening to your music on the built in loud speaker.

8. Nokia X6 Car Holder CR-99

If you use your X6 in the car either as a music player, Sat Nav or just for calls, then the safest and easiest way to mount it in the car is with the Nokia CR-99. It’s a universal holder that keeps all the charging ports clear on your phone and the bottom support has a holder for your car charger. The CR-99 can be screwed to your dash or used with the HH-12 Suction mount to stick it to your windscreen. If you don’t want to screw into your dashboard, you can use a Brodit Proclip. These are damage free brackets that clip onto your dashboard and provide a solid base for fixing holders on to.

9. Jabra Cruiser Bluetooth Speakerphone

Until recently, the Jabra SP700 was my favourite Bluetooth Car Kit, but it did fall short on a couple of features – namely noise cancelling and music playback controls. To remedy this, Jabra have released the Cruiser, a small, slim portable car kit that adds both of these features to an already fantastic car kit. The Jabra Cruiser is a Bluetooth Car Kit that simply clips to the sun visor of your car and pairs to your X6 using Bluetooth. The Cruiser supports both the A2DP and AVRCP profiles, so as well as being able to stream your music to it over Bluetooth for playback either through the built in speaker or through your car stereo using it’s built in FM Transmitter, you can now play/pause/track skip without having to touch your phone . The Jabra Cruiser will also play your phone calls through your car stereo speakers for improved clarity. The dual microphones in the cruiser work together to cut out background noise, making this a perfect choice for any one who spends a lot of time driving on motorways or noisy roads.

10. Parrot MKi9000 Bluetooth Car Kit

Parrot have always made fantastic car kits and the Mki range are no exception. There are three options available, the MKi9000, Mki9100 and the Mki9200. The main differences between them being the display screen that comes with them. I’ve chosen the MKi9000 as the best one for the Nokia X6 as you don’t need an external screen as well as the large display screen on the phone. You can play music from your phone through the MKi9000 using Bluetooth. The Mki9000 will synchronise with your phone book, and supports voice dialling. There is also a small remote that you can attach to your dash or steering wheel to control your music. Regular software updates that improve compatibility with your phone are available free of charge from the Parrot website.
