Sony Xperia 10 IV Revealed

The long expected Sony Xperia 10 IV was finally unrelieved at today’s Sony event on 11th May 2022, which started quite early. The Sony Xperia 10 IV was revealed alongside the Sony Xperia 1 IV, which is a flagship smartphone.

We’ll get straight into explaining what the Sony Xperia 10 IV offers users and what makes it different from older models.

First of all, the main difference and a difference that has been pointed out is the weight of the Sony Xperia 10 IV. The Sony Xperia 10 IV has been called the lightest 5G smartphone in the world, but I believe they are comparing it to the weight of previous models, or either flagship models.

However, the Sony Xperia 10 IV does weigh a mere 161g, which would put it into the category of a lightweight smartphone.

Battery

The Sony Xperia 10 IV now has a powerful, large battery of 5,000mAh, which is bigger compared to previous models in the same series that had battery sizes of 4,500mAh. What is amazing is that Sony incorporated a bigger battery within a more compact body.

Display & Design

The design of the Sony Xperia 10 IV takes us back to the statement that the device is the lightest 5G smartphone.

This is due to the plastic construction of the device, which keeps it in a low budget but also allows the device to fit into the category of being the lightest smartphone.

The smartphone does however feature a protective layer of Gorilla glass victus on top of the screen.

The device is made up of a 21:9 aspect OLED display, an upgrade from previous phones, which also features a 1080p resolution.

As for the refresh rate, the Sony Xperia 10 IV provides a refresh rate of 60Hz which if compared to other budget devices, is quite low.

Similar to the brightness of the Sony Xperia 1 IV increasing, the Sony Xperia 10 IV has also had an increase in brightness. It is now 10% more brighter compared to its previous models.

The phone is also IP65/68 water and dust resistance, allowing you to carry out your daily activities without worry.

You can find the device in 4 different colours, namely; white, black, mint and lavender which is a nice range of colours to choose from.

Audio

For those of you who love the headphone jack feature, you’ll be glad to know that the Sony Xperia 10 IV also features a 3.5mm headphone jack.

With Hi-res audio and 360 reality audio, you’ll be able to enjoy your favourite music whenever and wherever you are.

Camera quality

The Sony Xperia 10 IV features a rear triple lens which includes an ultra-wide-angle 16mm, wide-angle 27mm, and telephoto 54mm lenses, so that you can take the best shots possible.

You wont be needing to fiddle with the camera settings before taking the perfect shot, as the Superior auto function, assists in selecting the best settings for you to go ahead and capture the best shot you can.

With the optical image stabilisation, you can take the perfect focused image whether its evening or whether you’re in a low light area.

Performance

Compared to previous models, the Sony Xperia 10 IV has been upgraded to the Snapdragon® 695 5G Mobile Platform, meaning you’ll be able to game, watch movies, download things more faster and efficiently.

Overall, the Sony Xperia 10 IV is a quite decent budget device that comes at the price of £429 which is only £30 more than its previous models. I would say, for the number of upgrades its had compared to previous models, it would be worth the buy.
