The Nintendo Switch is out, and apart from a few strange design flaws it’s proving pretty darn popular. We’re here to support the movement with a full range of Nintendo Switch accessories, all carefully selected to make the most of your shiny new do-anything console. Let’s take a look!
Nintendo Switch travel adapter
This handy travel adapter pack comes with a USB-C charging cable and a mains travel adapter with four different plugs, allowing you to recharge from New York to Seoul (and the whole South Pole, where they’re keeping it cold*). It’s a 3A unit too, so your Switch will recharge with speed.
Nintendo Switch screen protector – Twin Pack
As we covered earlier, the Nintendo Switch’s screen isn’t protected by sapphire or even glass like most mobile devices — it’s just plastic. That unfortunately means that it’s very easy to scratch or damage; it can even be scratched when placing it into its own charging dock! For that reason, we recommend that you pick up a Switch screen protector. These Olixar screen protectors will add a layer of tempered glass, providing long-lasting protection without affecting touch sensitivity or optical clarity. Awesome.
You can also pick up a plastic film version 2-in-1 pack.
Nintendo Switch charger
If you’re looking for a replacement (or second) Nintendo Switch charger, then you can pick one up easily. Unlike past games consoles from Nintendo (and others), the Switch charges using USB-C. That means all you need is a sufficiently powerful mains charger and a USB-C cable, and you’ll be in business. We’ve got exactly that in stock now, so if you want to have a Switch charger in multiple rooms or keep one in your bag to recharge on the go, you can!
Nintendo Switch car holder & charger
The Switch is probably the best games console ever made, at least when it comes to playing in the car. You can of course use it in handheld mode, but the tablet mode is a lot more comfortable (particularly for long periods). Pick up this Switch car holder, and you’ll have the screen securely mounted at head height, allowing you to relax in the back seat and play in comfort. Combine with a USB-C car charger and you’ll be able to keep playing even on long road trips — it’s the perfect way to pass the time!
Nintendo Switch memory cards
Like the 3DS before it, the Switch uses Micro SD cards to store game installs and other data, but only comes with 25GB of free space. That makes picking up a Micro SD card pretty much mandatory if you want to have more than a couple of games installed at a time; Zelda Breath of the Wild alone takes up 13GB! When looking at Micro SD cards both speed and capacity are important. That’s why we’re recommending Samsung’s Evo+ 64GB card, which combines UHS-I speeds with a good amount of capacity at a reasonable price.
Nintendo Switch charging dock
The built-in charging dock for the Switch isn’t ideal, as it has a tendency of scratching the console’s vulnerable screen. This replacement from Kidigi is a much better bet, as it holds the Switch safely while charging. It’s also much smaller, so you can throw it in your bag to recharge at the office or at a friend’s house.
