UberEATS heading to the UK?

Watch out Deliveroo! There’s another delivery app out there that may (or may not) deliver food to you (depending on your postcode).

Reports suggest that the blight of traditional taxi drivers everywhere – Uber – may be expanding their food delivery service UberEATS to the UK.

The UberEATS app currently operates in 16 different cities around the world, including New York, Paris and Melbourne. Delivering food from local restaurants directly to your door in 10 minutes or less.

An Uber spokesperson told the Independent newspaper:

“UberEATS has been hugely popular in every city around the world we have launched it in, so the fact we are exploring the UK market shouldn’t come as a surprise.

We’re always looking at what other services we can bring to the market here.”

Although there’s no official confirmation yet, Uber is currently recruiting a Restaurants Partnership Manager in the UK, in addition to cycle couriers – actions that only add to the speculation of its imminent arrival.
