“For a company that has seen some rough seas lately, I’m glad HTC has remembered how to make a great smartphone. The thing is, its competitors haven’t been lazing around; they’ve been upping their game too, and now the contest for the crown is tougher than ever.”

“The P9 is the best Huawei phone to date. The Leica-branded camera may not fully deliver on Huawei’s claims, but it’s still as good, if not better than, most competing phone cameras. The P9 doesn’t quite match competing handsets… but with a £449 starting price it’s over £100 cheaper than its key rivals.”

“The HTC 10 is a good phone, with good specs and good software and good performance. Great! But there’s nothing about it that makes me want to recommend it over the iPhone.”
“The P9 is another accomplished smartphone from Huawei, with an innovative camera setup and plenty of power under the hood. But it’s not perfect, and there are still issues with the heavy Emotion UI.”
“The Huawei P9 is a bold phone in at least one way. Just as the Mate S showed off pressure-sensitive screen tech before anyone else, the P9 makes a case for multi-sensor computational cameras. This is future tech, folks.”

“For many people, camera quality is right up there with battery life as one of the most important considerations when choosing a new smartphone. In both regards, the Huawei P9 acquits itself well, and its camera performance in particular is very good indeed.”
