Yesterday we covered the launch of the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus, the latest flagship phones from Chinese smartphone giant Huawei. The two phones come with high-end Kirin octa-core processors, innovative dual cameras, and are clad in a slim aluminium shell. Today, we’re happy to confirm the first UK prices for these high-end phones, sold SIM-free and unlocked.
Huawei P9
The Huawei P9 will retail for £449, making it considerably cheaper than its nearest rivals, the Galaxy S7 (£559) and LG G5 (£529). While the P9 does come with a lower resolution screen and less RAM than its peers, it still feels like a high-end device that should be able to compete well with other Android flagships. The P9 is thought to be available from the middle of April, just over one week away.

Huawei P9 Plus
The larger and more powerful P9 Plus will naturally command a higher price, retailing at £629 in the UK. That’s the same price as the Galaxy S7 Edge, which is one of the most critically acclaimed phones this year, so things could be tougher for Huawei here. Still, with 64GB of storage on board (and more to be added via Micro SD), the P9 Plus does have a few edges over its better known rival. The P9 Plus will arrive later than the P9, sometime in May.
