A Welsh man won a small claims court case against Apple this week, after the company refused to fix his Apple Watch Sport’s cracked screen. Apple’s advertising listed the Watch as ‘impact resistant’, and a British court agreed that the description was misleading.

At the ruling in Aberystwyth, Apple were ordered to pay costs of £429 and refund the price of the watch, £339. Apple have also amended their description of the Watch on their website, removing the ‘impact resistant’ phrase entirely.

The man, Gareth Cross, is still planning to get another Apple Watch, though:

“I plan to buy another Apple Watch, as for the 10 days I had it, I really liked it,” said Mr Cross, “but I may wait until the next model is out.”

For the benefit of Mr Cross (and other Apple Watch owners), we do stock some accessories that will keep your Apple Watch in good condition.
