When the Lunecase first arrived as a Kickstarter campaign awhile ago it certainly turned heads. Here was an iPhone case that provided instant notifications without using any of your battery juice. It was an innovation that captured the imagination.
As if by magic…
By feeding on the iPhone’s electromagnetic radiation the Lunecase glows, displaying an icon which notifies you of an incoming text or call. Turning what at first glance appears to be a run of the mill snap-on case for the iPhone 6/6S into a pretty cool new feature.
Added discretion.
In addition to being a fun new feature, the Lunecase also offers an added bit of discretion.
Most of us find that even when our iPhone’s on silent or vibrate having the screen light-up can be a bit of a distraction, especially if you’re in meetings, at work or studying.
In contrast by placing your screen face down and relying on the icon to gently light-up when you receive a call or text, the Lunecase offers a much more subtle notification.
Over $150K pledged on Kickstarter.
The Lunecase became a realisation after $155,824 was pledged on Kickstarter. Thousands of Apple fans got behind the campaign to enable the makers – Concepter – to start manufacturing the case, ready for a mainstream market.
