The 4″ iPhone, what we know so far

Rumours have been flying that Apple is due to launch a 4-inch iPhone in the first half of 2016, with a number of sources claiming to provide a first look at the device.

The 4-inch iPhone is expected to be an addition to Apple’s iPhone 5 range, named the iPhone 5se.

It’s thought to follow a similar design to the iPhone 5S but will feature higher spec hardware – including a 12 megapixel camera, (iPhone 6S style) 2.5D glass, rounded volume toggles and a relocated sleep switch.

Huge innovations aren’t expected from this new device, and it comes as somewhat of a surprise given Apple’s R&D focus on the larger-screened iPhone 6 and 6S models.

Speculation suggests that the 5S will be discontinued and this newer device will take its place, keeping a similar price point.

But will there be a market for this new 4-inch device? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

In terms of getting a first look… there have been a few sources popping up over the weekend claiming to give a sneak peak at the official device – including the image above, originally posted on One More Thing, which claims to show the new model (right) next to the iPhone 5, and the YouTube video below posted by M.I.C Gadget.

Are these genuine? Only time will tell, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground and as always keep you updated.
