Yesterday we covered the announcement of the HTC One A9, the first in a new line of phones from one of Android’s best manufacturers — complete with a gorgeous (if derivative) design, excellent performance and a slick version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow aboard. Today, we’re happy to announce the first official cases for the One A9.
We have two different designs at the moment: the Dot View Ice and the Clear Shield. Let’s look at the Dot View Ice first.
HTC Dot View Ice case
The Dot View Ice is a clever case with a unique dot matrix design; its flip cover is riddled with a grid of tiny holes. These let light through from the display, allowing the cover to show information like the time, incoming calls and the weather. You’ll also see incoming notifications and other graphics, all beautifully rendered in a pixelated retro style. You can even play games here, and there’s more to come as developers continue to work on this interesting platform.
As well as looking cool, the Dot View Ice is also practical. Its cover will keep your screen protected, while the sides and corners are covered by the clear back portion. The case is fully sleep / wake compatible, ensuring your phone is already ready to use when the cover is opened. Combined with full cutouts where necessary, and you can expect a top-quality case that looks cool and protects your One A9 well.
HTC Clear Shield case
Our second case is the Clear Shield. This case is a simpler example, yet it still looks good and ably protects the One A9.
The Clear Shield is made from clear injection-moulded plastic, provided a tough yet transparent barrier against damage from drops, knocks and scratches. The Clear Shield covers the back and sides of the device, while also providing a thin lip around the display. There are cutouts wherever necessary to allow for full use of the device, too. All in all, it’s a simple and effective case that allows you to fully show off the design and colour of your chosen One A9 model.
