First third-party Apple Watch charging cable

The first third-party charging cable for the Apple Watch is coming soon. Chinese manufacturers Kenodi have produced images of their version, which should be available for considerably less than what Apple are charging (£25 for a 1 metre cable, and £29 for a 2 metre cable).

The cable uses short range inductive charging, allowing the watch to be charged without a direct physical connection. The wireless charging is aligned using a magnetic system. If this all sounds a bit familiar, it is – Apple use the same system in their own official charger.

It’ll be interesting to see how Apple respond to this third-party alternative, given that their Made for Apple Watch program only covers third-party straps at the moment.
