Happy Tuesday everyone! To celebrate, OnePlus are selling their popular ‘flagship killer’ One smartphone without requiring an invite.
The phone has been well reviewed, thanks to its solid construction, top-notch specifications and clean version of Android installed. The basic offer remains the same as it did when the OnePlus One first launched last year: £229 for a 16GB model in white or £269 for a 64GB model in sandstone black.
While more competitive flagships will be launching soon, for the moment the OnePlus One remains one of the fastest and best-equipped Android phones available. That includes a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM and a 3100mAh battery. In terms of cameras, you’re looking at a 13-megapixel Sony lens on the back, and an impressive five megapixel lens on the front. The phone has 4G LTE support; in the UK you can use it on Three or EE’s networks. Otherwise, you can expect solid 3G performance on other networks.
The OnePlus One is still running CyanogenMod 11 (a more customisable version of Android 4.4), but an upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop is expected in the next few weeks. Again, that puts it on par with the latest and greatest Android handsets.
To order the phone, head over to the OnePlus One site before 8AM GMT tomorrow, February 11th. At the time of writing, you have 18 hours to make your purchase. If you can’t make it, then you’ll just have to wait until next Tuesday when the phone will be available for purchase without an invite once again.
