LG tease round G Watch R for September reveal

LG have teased a new smartwatch in a YouTube video (embedded below). It’s thought to be called the LG G Watch R, and like the highly anticipated Moto 360 it comes with a gorgeous round dial.

The phone looks a lot classier than LG’s first Android Wearable, the square original G Watch. Like the Moto 360, the Watch R comes with nice circular watch faces suited to the display, but unlike the 360, the Watch R doesn’t have a weird black bar cutting off the bottom part of the face.

The G Watch R includes a side button (unlike the G Watch), a digital step counter, a distance meter and a compass. Of course, the watch will run Android Wear, which is supported by a growing number of Android apps, allowing you to receive incoming notifications, take notes, remotely control your phone and much more.

The G Watch R will be announced by LG early next month, at the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin. The watch is thought to go on sale soon afterward, in order to compete with the Moto 360. The Watch R is likely going to launch at a lower price point than the Moto 360, so it’ll be up to the first few reviews to really determine which will be the best option.

We’ll have the Watch R here at Mobile Fun, and we’ve already added the watch to our virtual shelves. To see more information and to register interest when we have confirmed pricing and availability, please visit the product page linked below:
