Top 5 BlackBerry Q5 cases

BlackBerry phones have historically been popular with two groups – business folk and youths. We’ve seen the former served with the Z10 and Q10, and now BlackBerry’s addressing that latter group with the release of the more affordable BlackBerry Q5. Today we’re going to look at some of the best cases available right now for the Q5 that should satisfy all branches of the BlackBerry fan base.

We begin with a case that’s definitely tailored more towards the business crowd – the leather pocket. As the name implies, this is a case that covers the front, rear and sides of the Q5, so you’ll need to take the phone out of the case to use it. While it’s a bit more effort to use it, once released from its leather material prison the phone is completely unencumbered. The case is ideal for mounting on a belt, and uses the Q5’s proximity sensor to lock the phone when it enters the case, saving battery life.

Next up is the first of our third-party cases, the FlexiShield Wave. This case is inexpensive but adds the minimum amount of protection that you need to avoid scratches and damages from small falls or knocks. The case adds very little bulk to the phone and can be worn at all times, ensuring a good level of baseline protection. The impact resistant plastic shell grants a moderate amount of protection too. Best of all, this case is quite affordable too.

Our final case is the Premium Shell, again made by BlackBerry themselves. This ensures a perfect fit every time, including cutouts in all of the right places to allow for the phone’s ports and buttons to be accessible while the case is on. The hard shell is both protective and handsome, with a lip protecting the screen from being shattered in a drop. The rear BlackBerry logo looks great too. An all-around great case that has few weaknesses!
