Galaxy S4 Mini to arrive in new colours on August 26th

The Galaxy S4 Mini is just like the Galaxy S4, but smaller and more affordable… and with some lower specifications. And just like the full-size model, the S4 Mini is getting some new paint in the coming weeks.

According to images leaked by Hi-Tech-Mail.ru, the Galaxy S4 Mini will soon be available in three new colours: red, brown and blue. Of course, all three colours also have some rather dolled up names provided by Samsung as well, as is their wont. Red becomes “Scarlet Dawn”, brown is of course “Brown Autumn” and blue is the ever-popular “Blue Iceberg.” I’ve got to say though, I’d definitely sooner admit to having a “Scarlet Dawn” Galaxy S4 Mini than a mere red one.

The shades are quite similar to those provided for the Galaxy S4 (and indeed earlier Galaxy models like the S3) in the United States. If the new colours are indeed available in the UK, then it’ll be something of a novel experience for us, to get new colours that aren’t bound to distant American carriers.

While the colours will be fresh, the hardware inside should be just the same – don’t worry about your shiny new S4 Mini being obsoleted so quickly! That means the same 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, one-and-a-half gigabytes of RAM, a 4.3 qHD display (that’s 960 x 540) and a pair of cameras at 8 and 1.9 megapixels. The dimensions will also be the same, so feel free to pick up a properly colour-coordinated Galaxy S4 Mini case if you like.

According to the Russian blog that originally posted the press renders, the new phone colour options will be available from August 26th, although it’s not known which regions will get the new colours. It’s certainly possible that Samsung will be implementing a staggered release, so we may not see the new colours for some time.

What do you make of the new colour options? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
