1st first-party Samsung Galaxy S4 accessories

The Samsung Galaxy S IV is getting very close to being announced, with the Samsung Unpacked event taking place in just nine days’ time. Today, we’ve got information on the first official accessories for the Galaxy S IV, made by Samsung themselves. These includes a couple of different Galaxy S4 case designs in a wide range of colours, as well as an extra battery kit. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

First up is the Genuine Galaxy S4 Flip Cover. As with the Galaxy S3, the Flip Cover replaces the stock rear cover of the Galaxy S4 with a more protective option. The Flip Cover also includes, as the name suggests, a thin synthetic cover that flips over to protect the screen when the phone isn’t in use. That means you get full protection for the most vulnerable part of the phone, without the thickness you’d see from a standard flip or folio case.

This official Samsung accessory for the Galaxy S4 is available in nine colours: orange, pink, white, blue, black, brown, lime green, light blue and mint.

Next, we’ve got a more protective case option: the Protective Hard Cover Plus. This case is constructed from a durable thermoplastic and envelops the phone’s back and sides, ensuring that the S4 won’t be scratched or knocked. The case also prevents dust and fingerprints from building up on the phone, yet doesn’t impede use of any buttons, ports or the camera.

The Hard Cover Plus also comes in a range of glossy colours, including white, blue, light blue, green and pink.

Our final couple of items are to do with charging. First up is an Extra Battery Kit, which combines a spare battery with a charging desk stand. This allows you to keep your phone and the spare battery topped up, while keeping the phone at a convenient angle for viewing incoming notifications or playing games.

It’s also possible just to buy the Spare Battery, for a little less than the cost of the kit. This is a better solution if you’re looking to use it as an emergency spare rather than a more constant extension.
