Make old MHL cables work with your S3 or Note 2 on the cheap

The Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 both support MHL – a technology that allows you to simultaneously connect your phone to an HDTV and serves as a Note 2 / SGS3 charger too. This allows you to mirror your phone’s display at 1080p resolution, perfect for watching movies or playing games on the big screen.

Unfortunately though, the MHL adapter required for these phones is incompatible with previous generation versions, e.g. a Samsung Galaxy S2 MHL cable. If you’ve already got an old MHL cable and a Note 2 or Galaxy S3, the cheapest option is to buy an adapter for your old cable, instead of a whole new one.

That’s why we’re happy to announce that we’ve got a new adaptor tip for making your old MHL cables work on the Note 2 and Galaxy S3. The previous tip was a genuine Samsung model, but the new one is a third party brand that offers the same functionality and is available for a lower price.

How it all fits together

The new design is small, at just 34 mm by 14 mm, and fits right onto your existing MHL cable. Once installed, you’ll barely notice it’s there, making it easy to travel with and difficult to lose.

If you’re looking for a way to reuse that old MHL cable on your new Galaxy S3 or Note 2, then this is the best way to do it – with an MHL Adaptor tip.
