Coloured Otterboxes for Galaxy S3 in stock tomorrow

Otterboxes are well loved for their protective abilities and slender figures, but up until now the cases have only been available in black. Starting tomorrow, we’ll start shipping a much wider palette of colours for both the Otterbox Commuter and Otterbox Defender – ten colours in all!

The Otterbox Commuter is the lighter of the two cases, utilising exposed silicone corners to provide excellent shock absorption without needing a thick and bulky body. It also sports silicone plugs for the micro USB and headphone jacks, preventing dust and moisture from settling within when the ports aren’t in use. The Commuter comes with a self-adhesive screen protector too. The Commuter is a good choice if you’re looking for a case that provides enough protection for everyday use but don’t want to carry around a significantly larger phone.

The Otterbox Defender, conversely, is the heavier of the two options. It prioritises protection over a slim figure, although it’s not too much bigger than the Commuter. It uses the extra size to support three layers in total – a polycarbonate inner core that provides rigidity, a silicone outer layer that provides scratch and impact protection, and a thermal-formed sheet which protects the screen. This case also includes silicone plugs for the micro USB and headphone jacks. If you’re looking for more heavy-duty protection for the S III, the Otterbox Defender is a good choice.
