Ballistic Shell Gel Case for HTC One X

We’ve just got details of a cool new HTC One X coverthat is now available for pre-order.It’s called the Ballistic Shell Gel Case, and it’s got to be one of your top options if you’re looking for heavy-duty protection for your One X. Its construction includes three different layers made of different materials, each chosen to fulfil a specific role. Let’s have a look at each.

  1. Soft silicone outer shell – this layer enhances grip and provides some shock absorption. The corners are also adorned with additional Ballistic protection: a clever move as the majority of dropped phones will hit on the corner first.
  2. Tough and impact-resistant polycarbonate shell – this solid layer prevents impact damage and also ensures your phone can’t be easily crushed.
  3. Ballistic shock absorbent polymer inner core – here, shock impacts are deadened before reaching the phone. It’s this layer which gives its name to the case.

 

As well as three layers of protection, this case also includes another cool feature, called Lay On Table. Essentially, the case is raised a few millimetres above the screen of the phone, meaning the phone’s screen won’t be scratched when it’s laid on a table or other flat surface.

Of course, there are other tough cases for the HTC One X available. Where the Ballistic Shell case really sets itself apart from its peers is in looks – this case is a beauty, with a cool dark colour and subtle dotted texture.   1. I recently dropped my HTC One X while out mountain climbing in Scotland. It fell down onto rocks with quite a bump, bouncing as it went. Id only had my phone a week :O but I must say those phones are so well built, it only put a tiny scratch on the corner and no scratches on the screen at all. I tend to be accident prone with devices so I ordered this case. Yes its a slight added bulk but nowhere near as bad as some people make it out to be, if it guarantees that extra protection and piece of mind then who cares?. This case is aimed at people that want to protect their phone from bangs and scrapes and I personally believe it does just that. It’s the defiantly the best looking/fitting tough case on the market at this moment in time. No hesitation in buying one!
